Two Polymarkets, two fee rules

Polymarket US is the iPhone app for US residents, regulated by the CFTC and trading in dollars. Sign-up asks for your date of birth, phone number and Social Security number. Its fee changed on October 19, 2026 to 0.0695 × contracts × P × (1 − P), rounded to the nearest cent on each fill. That is almost identical to Kalshi’s taker fee.

Polymarket.com is the international site. It runs on crypto: you hold pUSD, a dollar token backed by USDC, in a wallet only you control. It charges takers only, at a rate set by the market’s category:

CategoryTaker rateFee on 100 shares at 50¢
Crypto0.07$1.75
Sports, economics, culture, weather, other, combos0.05$1.25
Politics, finance, mentions, tech0.04$1.00
Geopolitics0$0

The price you see isn’t always the price you pay

Polymarket displays the midpoint between the best bid and the best ask, or the last trade when the spread is wider than 10¢. A buy fills at the ask, so check the order book before you trust the headline number.

Questions people ask

What is the Polymarket US fee?

From October 19, 2026, Polymarket US charges 0.0695 × contracts × price × (1 − price) on taker fills, rounded to the nearest cent on each fill. On 10 contracts at 62¢ that is 16¢.

Is Polymarket US the same as polymarket.com?

No. Polymarket US is a separate CFTC-regulated app for US residents, trading in US dollars, with its own accounts and support. Polymarket.com is the international crypto site and isn’t open to US residents.

What fees does polymarket.com charge?

Takers pay rate × shares × price × (1 − price), with the rate set by category: 0.07 for crypto; 0.05 for sports, economics, culture, weather, other and combos; 0.04 for politics, finance, mentions and tech; geopolitics is fee-free. Makers pay nothing.

Does Polymarket charge to deposit or withdraw?

Polymarket.com lists no deposit or withdrawal fee of its own; network and exchange costs can still apply. Polymarket US doesn’t publish a fee for each method, so look for a fee line on the confirmation screen. Polymarket US sends withdrawals back to the method you deposited with.
