Can you use Kalshi and Polymarket in Mexico?

Platform access, Mexican authorization, and account eligibility are different questions. A working app is not proof of a Mexican permit.

What “legal” needs to establish

SEGOB states that games with wagers in Mexico require express authorization. A foreign license does not establish that authorization. An event contract's legal classification also needs analysis; calling it a market or derivative does not decide the Mexican question. Read SEGOB’s explanation.

Authorized requires evidence of the applicable permit and current status. Platform-restricted describes access rules. Not verified means this review does not establish authorization; it is not a court finding of illegality.

What is prohibited?

SEGOB warns that operating games with wagers or draws without the required permit, and participating in them, violates the law. That general rule is not a specific Mexican ruling against every brand above. App-store availability and crypto payments do not replace authorization.

How to check a Mexican betting app

Record the exact domain, operating company, and permit number from the official site.
Compare them with the DGJS permit-holder and authorized-website directory.
Check the permit’s current scope, term, and later amendments or suspensions. A historical permit alone is insufficient.
If the check cannot be completed, ask DGJS and the operator for clarification rather than labeling the app legal.

Do not use false details or tools to evade geographic restrictions.

Review limits

We reviewed official platform access policies and SEGOB material available through search. The Mexican directory could not be opened reliably during this review, so current Mexican authorization is not certified here for Kalshi, Polymarket, or Caliente.mx. Caliente's permit statement is attributed to its own website.
